Saturday Night, November 12, multiple churches will gather to bring Glory to our God.  The band “Quenched” will lead us as we Worship through music and inspiring moments together.

“Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”  -  Romans 12:2

The month of October we will spend looking at these two verses and what they mean for our lives.  This series is all about Transforming into who Christ has called us to be.  God does not want us to stay the same, but rather to change into a person who can reflect His glory!  Don’t miss a single week!

October 5 – Become. The first week will be the beginning.  First you must become a follower of Christ to begin to experience Change.

October 12 – Renew. Part of transforming is “renewing our mind.”  There are things each of us has to rid ourselves of–but we must also choose to fill the void with the things of Christ.

October 19 – Reflect. Our charge from God is to reflect His glory!  What would this world look like if everyone who followed Christ truly reflected His glory?

October 26 - Change. The result of following Christ is a changed life.  But it is not necessarily easy, it is born out of being fully surrendered to Christ.

September 7, 2011 we begin our new year of Lakeside Student Ministry!  This year we are starting off in our newly renovated room, that about 3 times bigger and way nicer!  I can only imagine right now all of the ministry that is going to happen in our new LSM Auditorium.

Our school year kicks off on September 7th at 7PM with a celebration!  Then we’re getting into our series for the next month, TRANSFORM.  God has called us to become new creations when we follow Him, and he wants to change our lives for real!  Come see how we TRANSFORM into who God wants us to be.

This week will cost $299 per person, however, we will be participating in multiple fundraisers.

Registration Information

Don’t miss this awesome event!  All Middle School and High School student are invited as we travel together from Lakeside’s Main campus to the Warren Community Center for a night of fun.  We will begin with a message by guest speaker Jack Janigian and music and games together, then the rest of the night will be a free-for-all of the Warren Community Center.  Full use of the gyms, pools, water slides, game rooms, as well as free pizza and pop.  Later in the night we travel to Sterling Lanes for some bowling.  We get back to Lakeside at 7:30AM.  You must register ahead of time by filling out a Registration Form and turing it in to Ken Leslie on Sunday or Wednesday night up to March 2.

There are two different prices for this event.  The REGULAR rate of $35 per student applies to all active LSM students who have participated in LSM events this past year.  As a way to encourage guests, and becuase this event is intended for you to invite friends, we have lowered our GUEST rate to $25 per student.  This applies to you if you have not participated in LSM activities this year.

LSM Will be taking a “field trip” to Bethesda Christian Church on Metro Pkwy and Schoenherr Rd, on Wednesday Feb 16.  This is to kick off a HUGE event that LSM is part of.  The task is to share Christ with every High School student in Macomb County! This may sound incomprehensible, but when the Church comes together, nothing is impossible!

On this Wednesday night, students will gather at Lakeside by 7:00PM and then travel together to Bethesda.  There things will kick off at 7:30PM and run until 8:30PM.  We should return back to Lakeside by 9:00PM.  While at Bethesda there will be…

• Hundreds of students from all over Macomb County
• Worship together with the help of Stony Creek Church‘s band
• Time to pray together for your school

If any parents would like to join us to drive and see what is going on in the Student Ministry, please feel free to plan on sticking around!  I am excited for what is about to begin here at LSM and all over our county!

With the beginning of a new year, you begin to think about your past and what is to come this year.  What if we asked the question, who will you be in 10 years?  Too often we only see the small picture and “live for the moment,” when we really should be setting huge goals for ourselves and taking steps to achieve them!

In January, LSM will take a look at who God wants us to be in ten years. God gives us a simple rule of thumb in Deuteronomy 6, “Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.”  When we do that, we will live for God all our life!

This year’s Winter Retreat is shaping up to be a fantastical weekend you won’t want to miss!  We will travel again to Bambi Lake in Roscommon, MI and have a great weekend with about 250 other students from LSM and other churches.  Tom Gibson Band will lead us in worship, and EJ Swanson will speak to us about what it means to be for real as a follower of Christ.

MOMENTUM is a unique experience for students. The entire retreat takes place in our own church and city! Even though we don’t go far, we encourage everyone to “get away” together for this awesome weekend! In our “Big Room” events, we will have worship led by worship leader Tom Gibson and his band. These guys led us at our previous Winter Retreat in February. There will also be awesome teaching, give-aways, and crazy things you just have to see. In the evenings, we will be staying as small groups at the Microtel Hotel & Suites on 13 Mile and Little Mack Ave. On Saturday, we have a special afternoon at Metro Park planned. All travel and chaperoning will be done by the adult small group leaders throughout the weekend. Sunday we finish off our weekend by all attending church together. This will be a memorable event!

Cost is only $49 for everything–Lodging, food, all expenses paid! But you must register by Oct 20th for that rate, after that there is a $10 late fee added.  You can download REGISTRATION information here!
